Term (Index) Definition
radiant heating  heating of the semiconductor wafer by radiation emitted by a solid at very high temperature; very strong IR component; under the steady-state condictions source and the wafer are in thermal equilibrium.
inductive heating  heating in which energy of ac signal (typically RF) is coupled directly to the object to be heated; temperature of this object is increased due to the Jules effect; coldwall reactors; same principle as in a conventional microwave oven; in semiconductor manufacturing less common now than it was in the past.
