angstrom, Å  unit of length commonly used in semiconductor nomenclature, 1Å = 10-8 cm = 10-4 micrometer = 0.1 nm; not a standard international unit; gradually replaced by nm in common usage: 1nm = 10Å
nanometer, nm  one billionth of a meter, 10-9 m [nm]; terms such as nanoelectronics, nanomachining, nanotechnology, nanofabrication refer to this size scale.
