Term (Index) Definition
Wurtzite structure  hexagonal closed-packed crystallographic structure; while most semiconductors of interest crystallize following cubic struture, some, most notably nitrides (e.g. AlN, BN, GaN) and certain polytypes of SiC, crystalize following Wurtzite structure.
cubic system  one out of seven unit cells in crystallography; includes simple cubic cell, body-centered (BCC), and face-centered cell (FCC); most of key semiconductors crystallize following FCC lattice.
