Term (Index) Definition
LET,  Light Emitting Transistor; Thin-Film Transitor (Field-Effect) made out of either inorganic or organic semiconductors capable of emitting radiation.
Field Effect Transistor, FET  transistor in which output current (source-drain current)is controlled by the voltage applied to the gate which can be either an MOS structure (MOSFET), a p-n junction (JFET), or metal-semiconductor contact (MESFET); FET is an unipolar transistor, i.e. current is controlled by majority carriers only.
organic semiconductor  a class of solids displaying semiconductor properties based entirely on organic components; low-cost semiconductors formed as a thin film on any substrate (including flexible substrates); maintain fundamental characteristics even when significantly bent; by nature much more resistive (in the range of 1014 ohm-cm, i.e. almost insulators) than inorganic semiconductors; two key types of o.s.: (i)small-molecule o.s. and (ii)long-chain polymeric o.s.; o.s. have a potential of expanding applications of semiconductors into new areas, particularly in display technology (flexible displays).

TFT, Thin Film Transistor  Thin Film Transistor; a Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor implemented using thin film technology; uses thin films of either polycrystalline or amorphous silicon (or other thin film semiconductors, e.g. organic) and a variety of insulating substrates; compatible with liquid crystal display (LCD) technology; used in active matrix LCDs.
