Term (Index) Definition
Boltzmann statistics ,  describes energy distribution within the group of particles; the number of prticles with given energy N(E) is proportional to exp(-E/kT) where k is the Boltzman constant; does not impose restriction on the number of particles that can have the same energy state; it works for electron energy distribution in a conduction band of semiconductor because the number of possible energy states is much higher than number of electrons (hence, probability of two electrons having the same state is very low).
