7.4. Post-Etching Processes
As indicated earlier, properly patterned layer of photoresist is the material most commonly used to act as a mask during etching, i.e. the material acting as a local barrier against etching. Post-etching operations involved removal of the no longer needed resist as well as a subsequent very thorough cleaning of the wafer surface.
